  i"m listening to the 2013 dc green bay saturday talk on false gods.. the speaker says no one would knowingly worship false deities.

  but could we inadvertantly give jehovah less than exclusive devotion he deserves.. he said:you have not allowed this deception power of sin to sensual desires, material comforts, pets, technology, entertainment or food to become objects of devotion to you.. anything that interferes with our spiriutal routine has the power of eroding or weaking our relationship with jehovah.. .

  my dogs can erode my relationship with jehovah.

  WHEN eWATCHMAN (or iSaiah, if you're into Apple products) first came out with his book,many of us here shared a deep and hearty manly laugh about how the title should have been "(Robert) King Himself Has Become Jehovah". The guy seems to have no self-esteem issues - he started his own fanclub, then disfellowshipped almost all the members.

  To those of us who have been around for awhile, Robert King is a certifiable crackpot. We don't need to repeat the stank test every time he utters something.

  Why JW's take on education is truly disingenuous

  we've all waxed poetic about the jw views on higher education and how they truly stifled people trying to pursue an education.

  but what did they offer as an alternative??!!.

  at least mormons (who's theology is as equally fucked up as jws) had an accredited school in brigham young university that their people could aspire to attend.

  I want to see them swing this dead cat by the tail... if 1914 goes, then WHEN did JayCee "select" them from out of Christendom?

  WHEN did they "receive authority over all his belongings"?

  Lawsuit maybe?

  i would love to file an emotional distress lawsuit of some sort against the wt.

  since my husbands return envolvement 2 years ago my documented mental health problems have gotten steadly worse.

  this past weekend i started drinking after 17 years sober, a sucicide attempt that put me in a private psych hosiptal.

  Mrsjones5, have you read any of the novels by the Canadian collective who use the name Michael Slade?

  "His" first work was "Headhunter" (May 1985). I think he's got about 17 titles under his belt now. Very good writing. I think you might enjoy it.
